What is waiting for you on the other side of asking for attention?
And by asking for attention, I mean…
Pitching yourself to podcasts, editorials, TV, or speaking gigs
Requesting help from strangers, colleagues, friends, and family
Promoting an idea, a framework, or a philosophy
In my experience, and in the words of clients, colleagues, and friends, a short list of what waits for us on the other side is…
Selling books, filling group programs, and booking inquiry calls
Growing our email lists
Watching our social media metrics increase
New connections in the form of referral partners and friends
Inspiration and transformation
It’s a beautiful notion, but many of us won’t get to experience what’s waiting for us on the other side.
Sure, some of us are scared – and considering the state of our culture, rightly so. On top of fear, we experience overwhelm while juggling our multiplicity of roles. The final piece of bread that often sandwiches us in is the lack of skillset and tools to start making those asks.
I’m not qualified to address the fear, but I can help you solve the latter two challenges and, given my decade plus of expertise in the PR field, I can help you do it incredibly quickly.
Plus, if you’re not sure what “makes you different” in your industry, the most powerful takeaway for you will be to see how the right positioning can turn up the volume on your life’s work while placing your story and message in full technicolor.
It's Time to Ask for Attention
〰️
It's Time to Ask for Attention 〰️
After over a decade of being behind the scenes, playing a hand in bestseller books and sold out program launches, I’ve learned that the majority of authors and entrepreneurs aren’t quietly doing their work behind the scenes because they don’t want visibility.
Typically, they struggle to pitch themselves because they can’t clearly see what makes them stand out. Even if they do know, they often don't know how to articulate in a way that makes it “media worthy.”
But that’s where I come in. Identifying and crafting messaging that makes someone stand out to media makers is something that has made past clients tell me that I was the best investment they ever made.
Beyond hundreds of podcast interviews booked, that messaging has landed media in NBC Better, The Today Show, CNN, SHAPE, Byrdie, Well + Good, Bustle, Forbes, Quartz Magazine, Fast Company, and Strategy Magazine.
What’s more, I’m not just bringing 10+ years of PR experience to our container. I’m also offering 20+ years of being a student of storytelling. As a fiction writer, I naturally weave in the magic of character development, story arc, and literary technique to the conversation in a way that adds density and depth to everything I write.
Hi! I’m Cher.
Plus, I refuse to do this work without taking equity, liberation, and humanity into account.
Our stories – from the ones we tell on podcasts to the books on our shelves – are a tool for social change.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH MOST PITCHES?
The primary problem I encounter when I do workshops, receive podcast pitches, or review client pitches is that the talking points people are using are bland and generic, which makes the pitch easy to ignore.
In an industry where there are more entrepreneurs vying for visibility and less space available, capturing attention is vital.
And AI doesn’t yet have what it takes to connect to their humanity in a way that makes them want to respond to you.
Pitches that are easy to ignore fail to capture the reader’s imagination, curiosity, or heart.
I’ve been refining my framework for crafting pitches that do just that over the course of twelve years, and as a result, I’ve booked my clients on hundreds of podcasts – from niche shows to celebrity-hosted podcasts.
At this point in a sales page, I could give you testimonials from clients telling you how much my work has impacted their businesses, but I think it’s more useful for you to see testimonials from folks who have received my pitches – copied and pasted directly from my email inbox.
“This is hands down the best pitch I've ever received, so please know that you're welcome to email and pitch me anytime you'd like! It's clear that you care about your clients and making sure they're a good fit.”
“I just have to tell you that I'm blown away by this podcast pitch note. This is literally the first time I've ever had a company ask before pitching and it's incredible! This is single-handedly the best pitch I've ever seen and it's because you really let me know you listened to my podcast, how it helped in some way and then asked before you pitched. AMAZING!!!!”
“Thank you for the thoughtful and well-researched pitch!”
“I wanted to tell you that this was such an incredible and thorough pitch. And I appreciate the time and care that went into it. I receive A LOT of pitches from PR reps, and honestly this was among the best.”
And of course, my favorite feedback…
“I’d love to have her on!”
Here’s what I imagine for you instead:
I imagine….
… that each pitch you write repeatedly lights you up every time you hit send because you remember how your distinct gifts and story are already making an impact.
… that every pitch that lands in overflowing inboxes stands out from the rest because it’s in full technicolor
… that you effortlessly release the opportunities that aren’t meant for you. No energetic baggage, thankyouverymuch.
… that you cultivate a supportive network of people who routinely create visibility opportunities for each other.
… that you have every tool and message you need to hear a “yes” for ideal media opportunities
Pitching yourself can be joyful and fun and restorative. It can remind you of your purpose. And it can connect you to others in a way that serves everyone’s needs.
That’s why I’ve developed two intensives that will give you everything you need to pitch yourself in a way spotlights your credibility, your unique approach, and the value you have to offer.
you can choose from two intensives.
Week-long Intensive: ALL MEDIA
Over the course of one week, I’ll take on the bulk of the work by:
Crafting a media list: This includes a list of 30 outlets to pitch (including contact info and helpful notes). You can mix and match these to be for podcasts, editorials, TV, or speaking opportunities.
Customizing 5-7 brand-specific pitch templates: We can create templates for multiple podcast topics, TV, editorial, or speaking engagements. This process will also give you 15-20 talking points that you can reuse and adapt for podcast, editorials, speaking, and TV.
Active pitching: I’ll send 5 pitches on your behalf as your temporary publicist to kickstart momentum.
Readying your press assets: We’ll create/update your bio and assemble a press kit that will make producers and hosts love working with you once you’re booked.
You’ll also get:
Access to a suite of bite-sized videos that walks you through my pitching process — sourcing podcasts, researching, writing pitches, and following up (any member from your team can access these for one year)
Post-intensive email support for yourself and one member of your team (30 days)
PRICE: $5,000
*It’s important to note that I only offer week-long intensives on Mondays and Fridays. If you aren’t available on Mondays and Fridays, I can recommend other publicists who do similar work but have more scheduling flexibility.
DAY-LONG INTENSIVE: PODCAST SPECIFIC
Over the course of one day, I’ll:
Craft a comprehensive media list: This includes 20 podcasts to pitch across a variety of niches (including contact info and helpful notes)
Customize 3 brand-specific pitch templates: These will represent distinct messages. For example, one template for telling your business origin story, one template for highlighting your unique relationship methodology, and one template for your burnout story. You can reuse and adapt the 5-10 talking points I’ll create for podcast, editorials, speaking, and TV).
You’ll also get:
Access to a suite of bite-sized videos that walks you through my pitching process — sourcing podcasts, researching, writing pitches, and following up (any member from your team can access these for one year)
Post-intensive email support for yourself and one member of your team (14 days)
PRICE: $3,000
*It’s important to note that I only offer day-long intensives on Fridays. If you aren’t available on Fridays, I can recommend other publicists who do similar work but have more scheduling flexibility.
Because of my parenting responsibilities, I have limited availability for intensives (~1-2 per quarter) and often book 2-3 months in advance.
A NOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY NEED A BIG NETWORK
It’s critical for me to mention that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have existing connections with the people you want to pitch. I love sending a cold pitch, and I’ve fine-tuned a cold outreach strategy that has saved me hundreds of hours and has consistently led to a 37% conversion rate from pitch to booking.
WHO IS IT FOR?
It’s for:
Any business owner who identifies as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+
Nonfiction authors (business, self-help, wellness, DEI, leadership)
Any entrepreneur who has recently pivoted and isn’t sure how to marry who they were with who they’re becoming
Service providers and consultants
Health/wellness coaches

It’s not for you if you:
Don’t currently have capacity to complete a ~30-minute intake questionnaire
Aren’t supportive of values related to equity or liberation

FAQ
How much participation is required of me?
For both intensives, I ask that you complete an intake form that requires about thirty minutes of your time. The majority of your answers will be submitted via audio.
If you’re booking the week-long intensive, we’ll meet once at the start of the week, on Monday, for 90 minutes. Then, we’ll meet again on Friday for another 90 minutes so we can edit together in real time, go through everything I created, and answer questions.
If you’re booking the day-long intensive, we’ll meet for 60 minutes in the morning. I may contact you throughout the day with questions. Then we’ll meet at the end of the day for 60 minutes so we can edit together in real time, go through everything I created, and answer questions.
What will happen after I decide to book an intensive?
I’ll send you an agreement via HelloSign that details your preferred payment structure, a calendar link to choose a date for your intensive, and an invoice. Once those items have been completed, I’ll send a link and instructions to complete your intake form.
What kind of results can I expect once I start sending out pitches?
While I can’t say for certain what each person will experience after they start sending pitches, I can tell you about the experiences my clients have had.
When I’m pitching on behalf of my clients, they see between a 15% and 25% conversion rate (so about 2 ‘yeses’ for every 10 pitches sent).
When clients are DIYing the process, they’ve told me that they’ve landed between 20-30 interviews from a list of 100 podcasts.
I can’t afford this, but this feels so important to my current stage of business. Is there any way we can make this work?
Yes! If the price is prohibitive for you, payment plans are available. You can schedule up to three payments with no additional fees.
Can you share more about the results you get for your clients?
Of course! I’ve supported dozens of clients in booking hundreds of podcast interviews – both in a done-for-you capacity and a done-with-you style training.
Without an existing network, I’ve booked clients on shows hosted by personalities like:
– Bekah Martinez (from The Bachelor)
Plus, my pitches have landed media in outlets like NBC Better, The Today Show, CNN, SHAPE, Byrdie, Well +Good, Bustle, Forbes, Quartz Magazine, Fast Company, and Strategy Magazine.
You can also check out my case studies for more information.
I don’t use social media. Will that be an obstacle in pitching myself?
Absolutely not. There are other ways to prove your credibility and influence without showcasing vanity metrics from social media.
Will I need to buy a professional microphone?
While it’s not absolutely required, it is helpful to have high quality audio for your interviews. BUT this doesn’t have to be expensive. We can chat about this throughout the program. Here’s a great guide for recommendations on an entry-level setup.
